Financial Management System

The General Ledger now contains a new option titled: External Journal Interface. The interface is intended to allow the interface of Payroll transactions from the new Pulse Payroll & Rostering System. It has also been written as a generic interface module meaning that transactions from any source can be interfaced so long as the interface file conforms to our specification.

Employee Management System

Part-Time laundry allowance in the 2010 award is now identical to the pre-2010 NAPSA. That is, in NSW it is paid per week and in QLD it is paid per shift.

Early Shift Penalty in the 2010 award is now calculated correctly for shifts moving from Sunday into Monday.

The pay translation for Early Shift Penalty in Registered & Licensed Clubs Award 2010 is now calculating on a per hour basis rather than a per shift basis.

An issue that caused the pseudo cheque number for EFT payments to be incorrectly calculated has been fixed.

An error no longer occurs in printer setup if the workstation does not have a default printer.

25-Aug-2009: The Superannuation Contributions Report now separates SGC Levy employer contributions from Salary Sacrifice employer contributions.

An enhancement to Employee File Maintenance has been made to allow genuine salary sacrifice employer contributions to be entered and kept separate from compulsory employer superannuation contributions.

Employee Management System

The employee Start Date constraint on frozen Saturday and Sunday rates in Queensland has been removed to enable implementation of an enterprise agreement at a client site. This means that if a frozen Saturday or Sunday rate has been defined it will be used in pay calculations for both Full Time and Part time employees irrespective of the employee's Start Date.

All Queensland clients using the Employee Management System are advised to review their frozen Saturday and Sunday rates. Unless an enterprise agreement otherwise dictates, these rates should be set to zero.

Email Remittance Advice display issues caused by Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Security Updates have been addressed. To implement these changes, a new remittance advice template must be created on your server. Please contact your Pulse Software Representative for assistance.

The Bank Reconciliation Interface for NAB Online was revised to enable the processing of journal transactions as well as cheques and deposits.

Employee Management System.

The transfer of Employee Declarations and Group Certificates via the ATO's Electronic Commerce Interface now supports company branch numbers.

The Superannuation Contributions Report now provides the ability to optionally print an employee's Tax File Number (TFN).

Employee Management System.

NB: These changes must not be downloaded until AFTER the last pay run for the year ending 30th June 2008 is complete.

  • The calculation of employer compulsory superannuation contributions has been revised to conform with the rules as prescribed by the Australian Tax Office.

  • New tax scales are now available for download.

  • The Employee Tax File Number Declaration electronic interface file has been amended as per the Australian Tax Office specification.

  • A problem with the calculation of NSW gaming machine tax has been corrected.

2007.3.0 - July, 2007

Employee Management System.

  • This system has been upgraded to process the new Employment Termination Payment ( replacing the old Eligible Termination Payment ). The format of the data entry screen if a lump sum C amount is entered has been updated. Pulse is now compliant with version 8.0 of the ATO PAYG annual reporting summary system and version 3.0 of the PAYG self printing system.

  • A change has been made to the calculation of nominal hours (ordinary hours) for work choices annual and personal leave. Normal hours worked as a casual by fulltime and part time staff will no longer be included in the hours calculation.

2007.2.2 - June, 2007 - Supplementary Update

Employee Management System.

  • Support has been added for work choices employees who receive 5 weeks annual leave without the requirement of having to work in excess of 30 Sundays or public holidays. A new value has been added to 'Apply Extra WK A/L' in Employee File Maintenance. The new value is 'Always' - and will indicate that instead of 1/13th (4/52nds) of ordinary hours worked being credited every 4 weeks - 5/52nds will be credited.

  • The Work Choices conversion program has been altered so that it can be run multiple times to process previously unconverted employees without affecting those that have already been converted.

  • For those employees that have already been converted to work choices and were entitled to 5 weeks annual leave (with a manual adjustment being necessary on their anniversary) a manual adjustment to their leave with a date as at the last work choices leave credit record should be done - as per leave enquiry. (This should be 1/4 of all leave hours credited under work choices) Then set the 'Apply Extra Wk A/L' field in Employee File Maintenance to 'Always'.

  • For employees who have not been converted - set the 'Apply Extra Wk A/L' field in Employee File Maintenance to 'Always', in addition to following the steps outlined in the Workchoice Conversion notes for these employees and then re-run the Workchoices conversion.

New Payroll PAYG Tax Rates.

  • The new PAYG tax rates effective from 01/07/2007 are now available. They MUST NOT be downloaded until all payroll processing for the end of year has been completed. When ready they can be accessed by selecting "New Payroll Tax Rates File (post 01/07/2007)" and updating your system in the normal manner.

2007.2.0 - March, 2007

This version of our Pulse Synergy Software is compatible with Microsoft's new Vista operating system. As has always been in the past, if you experience any difficulties with our software please contact Pulse Support.

Employee Management System.

  • The PAYG Payment Summary application (Group Certificates) has been changed to conform with new ATO standard for 2007 (Complies with Self-printing 2.0). This application will now normally only print 1 page per employee - the tax return copy is no longer printed.

  • The LSL entitlement update and listing has been amended to correctly calculate years of service if start and anniversary date day and month are different.

  • The additional PSL, PCL, CML hours codes have been removed from the selection list in timesheet entry and editing as Workchoices no longer requires penalties to be paid on sick leave.

Poker Machines System.

  • Queensland QLD Form 58 has been altered to correctly report the break up of machines if there is more than 100 machines of one denomination.
